Sustainability

Producing well-made products that last is at the heart of what we do, and sustainability is key to our production process. That’s why we use sustainable and renewable resources wherever possible, and make it easy for you to make greener choices too!

Recycle joy

We use bags made from 100% recycled plastic bottles in our returns process, and the bags we send your orders in are made from ~50% recycled materials - turning waste plastic into happy post! Even better, these bags are fully recyclable, so please do!

All our cardboard clothing labels are made from FSC-accredited sources and our cardboard packaging is 100% recyclable, so you can rest assured the materials we use come from well-managed and highly ethical forests. We also produce a lot of our cardboard locally on-site, minimising travel and keeping your local roads free from pollution.

Our warehouse teams love to recycle and take time carefully sorting all plastics, cardboard, paper and outer packaging for reuse by UK processors. This means that your returns bag could be transformed into something new and exciting!

Paper over plastics

There aren’t many industries that can aspire to be genuinely sustainable; the paper industry, however, is one of them. That’s why we’ve partnered with Love Paper to share our sustainable print processes, spreading the word that you can love paper and be kind to the environment too!

For example, in 2019, we stopped posting our catalogues in plastic and started wrapping them in paper instead, saving 65 tonnes (that’s almost 10 elephants) of plastic a year!

Online Clothing Bank

  Clothing that
  makes a difference

In collaboration with The Salvation Army, we're excited to announce the launch of our Online Clothing Bank, a charitable and sustainable solution which will allow our UK customers to donate their unused clothing.

A bright future

We’re currently setting up a PV (solar power) farm at our distribution centre in Nottingham, allowing us to run off of 100% solar power. We’re also installing reduced power consumption LED lighting across the site, illuminating the way to renewable, low-emission energy solutions!

Green fleet

We have converted more than half our fleet to electric vehicles and installed 20 charging stations across our offices. We aim to have a 100% electric fleet by 2024 and to make charging stations available for every staff member who needs one!

A new life for electricals

Did you know that, if you buy an electrical item from us – that’s anything with a plug, cable or battery – we’ll happily recycle the electrical item you’re replacing for FREE?

All you need to do is bring the old electrical item you’re replacing into one of our stores within 28 days, with the receipt for its replacement, and we’ll take care of the rest. It’s as easy as that!

The item you’d like to return and recycle doesn’t need to have been bought from us but it must be like-for-like in terms of type and size to the replacement you’ve purchased. Simply make sure the item is clean, dry and doesn’t present a health and safety risk to anyone handling it, and bring it to the till in any of our stores.
