Relaxation guide: How to organise the ultimate duvet day
Enjoy a well-deserved day off from work or life by making the most of a duvet day. Whether it is reading a book, watching a DVD or listening to music we have provided you with a guide on what to wear to help you feel 100% relaxed, whatever the weather.
Joggers and sweats
For that understated, laidback look then joggers or sweats are the perfect choice for a duvet day. They can come in a variety of fabrics, fleece being the most popular choice due to its soft feel on the skin.
The elasticated waist on joggers is great for giving you extra movement and allowing you to breathe easily when relaxing on the couch or in bed. Pair with a matching hoody or sweatshirt for that little bit of extra comfort, or for hotter days just a simple plain cotton tee will do the job.
From cosy trousers to versatile gilets that promise to keep you cosy as we move from one season into the next, soft fleeces are ideal whether you're relaxing at home or pottering around the garden. Fleece jackets, half-zip tops, and trousers are all easy to wear and care for, and can come in a choice of vibrant and versatile colours.
Cotton base layers are all set to become your wardrobe's hardest workers. Skin-kind and brilliantly soft, they're ideal layered under fleeces, knits, and shirts whether you're out and about or hiding away from the weather at home. In a choice of classic colours or colour-rich marls, you’ll find one for every outfit and all your needs.
For hotter weather, cotton vests work well with a loose pair of trousers, allowing your skin to breathe when pottering about in the heat.
Duvet day may also mean pyjama day. Pyjamas don’t necessarily have to be just for bed and retailers now have a wide variety of upmarket loungewear to choose from. Loose-fitting cotton trousers, fleece sweatshirts, and classic cotton tees can all be worn casually around the house as well as for bed.
Some days, you just want to unwind and take things easy, and in these instances only the most comfortable of loungewear will do! There are plenty of options of clothes to help you feel totally at ease in what you wear while you enjoy some good quality relaxation time – whatever the weather outside.
