Where it all began...

In 1987, Cotton Traders was established in a small office at the back of Altrincham railway station in the rainy north west of England. So, when it came to designing a new logo for our latest men’s styles, we didn't need to look far from our home for inspiration!

Goose Green

Goose Green is a historic area of Altrincham, dating back to 1799. The name is thought to come from the area where geese were kept before they were sold at the iconic market, although today, the only geese you’ll see there are sculptures!

Hustle & bustle

During the late '80s, Goose Green began its transformation from a residential area into a bustling village with local businesses and entrepreneurial spirit in abundance. Its first wine bar, Ganders, was opened around 1987... the year Cotton Traders was founded!

The perfect sanctuary

We’ve threaded the love we have for Altrincham and Goose Green into every single one of our Goose styles, so why not take a gander? You might just find something that gets you as excited as our charismatic friend!

A homage to heritage

So it was decided that a goose would be the perfect homage to our home and heritage, he just needed a touch more charisma...and what’s more charismatic than dancing feet and a bowler hat?
