Cotton Traders Announces New Operational Measures

British fashion brand, Cotton Traders has introduced new measures to safeguard the welfare of its employees during the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The new measures see the businesses’ contact centre which was previously a 100% in-house desk-bound operation provide secure remote working for its colleagues who wish to work from home. And the distribution centre introduces further measures to protect colleagues and observe a minimum of 2m social distancing.

Nick Hamblin, CEO of Cotton Traders said: “As a responsible business with the best interests of our employees at heart we have introduced new measures to ensure the safety of our colleagues. This is to go above and beyond the already strict government guidelines put in place to protect colleague welfare whilst ensuring the business can remain operational.

“We have been overwhelmed by the positive way our colleagues across the business have responded to this difficult situation – from our distribution centre in Nottingham to our contact centre in Altrincham, and we continue to review our operations to ensure the work place is as safe as it can be for those who’re not working from home.

“As well as all colleagues keeping a safe social distance of at least 2m across the entire business and increased cleaning - we’ve put in measures to ensure those travelling to work can do so safely with taxi services for employees instead of public transport. And every employee has been given the opportunity to stay home should they want to or need to if they’re at risk.

“Previously a 100% in-house contact centre – our business has transformed the way our operatives handle calls with many working from home.

“Workstations are spaced at least 2m apart and all colleagues are being incredibly cautious to social distance at all times – from the entire distribution centre and contact centre to break-out spaces and entrance ways, it makes us incredibly proud to see how well all colleagues are respecting each other’s space.

“Having spent time fielding calls in our contact centre over the last few days, I’m also well aware of how important our business is to our loyal customers. For many, our casualwear is brightening up their day whilst they’re stuck at home and in the garden. Our customer demographic is older, in the most part 50+ and a large proportion of our customers are those vulnerable self-isolators. We know the importance we play in their lives, now more than ever.”

“In this difficult time, we thank both our colleagues and loyal customers for their continued support as we navigate this global crisis.”
